I'm actually a detailer and deal with tree sap all the time. Go to autozone and pick up either Clay Magic clay (best) or Mothers (2nd choice). If that doesn't work (which it should), try the diluted rubbing alcohol. It will not hurt your clear coat as long as it doesn't stay on for too long, but it will remove any wax thats on your car.

I would reverse this...use the water/70% iso alcohol solution with a microfiber towel first, then use a clay bar. Thats what I do before applying bras.....I personally wouldn't use goo-gone because of the chemicals in it. They MAY screw your paint up or leave a residue which, if not removed, could cause permanent damage to your paint!

agree with the goo gone leaving residue. it leaves like some kind of oily residue.
