Quote: they look very evil, but i think they're a bit too dark. the taillights shouldn't be darker than the car, given that phantom black isn't a deep black, if you lightened up the taillight tint a bit i think it would even everything out.

for example your headlights, even with the tint you can still make out some detail of the projectors, turn signals, etc.

It would look better if the X had LED lights. Today I saw an 08 white STI with blacked out tail lights, and it looks amazing with their LED set up.

Sorry to bring a dead thread back but can people even see your brake lights? I am thinking about doing the same. Where did you get your covers for the break lights and third bl?

it looks to me like he nite shaded it and clear coated it but i could be wrong, if he did niteshade it, the light is visible because niteshade is transparent. and nite shade can be bought at local autoshops like pepboys and autozone.

fugly, change them out to ralliart tail lights for some contrast. Not feeling the black on black crime that are typically found on all Mustangs.

I still have these, but not on my car...went with the Ralliarts (I like having some color contrast). The tint was really dark, but you could still see the brake lights when they lit up. I used niteshades to tint the tails, brake light, and the trunk release.

That stuff works great! Didn't need to clearcoat to get that finish, and doesn't come off easy. On my trunk release button, it came out great on top of the chrome (or plastic chrome or whatever that stuff is). This stuff seems to stick better that normal spray paint.
