APR Vortex Generator Evo X ty CVRmotorsports

Even with the APR Vortex Generator installed my Sirius radio works 100%. I never got one drop out on the signal all day of driving. Hell it even worked when I was parked in my garage. Check out the youtube for proof.

I like to start thread by saying THANK YOU Bryan from CVRmotorsports . This sucka is a thing of beauty. Came in fresh off the factory and well worth the wait. What you see here is the new APR Carbon Fiber Vortex Generator and it's damn cheaper than the Chargespeed one. This piece also covers your antenna base making it more aerodynamic. This eliminates the ugly square base. I'll be installing this over the weekend because Chicago weather sucks right now. I give this 10/10 for quality and 10/10 for styling as it doesn't have obscenely large fins, they are perfectly sized.

yeah, its a very nice well made pc, just finished installing this VG on a friend's new X, the weaves are perfect unlike other carbon parts out there.
Make sure when you installing this pc, have a friend to help you line up to where it should be, and clean up the roof surface with alcohol swab pads and heat up the double sided tapes before you install the vg to the roof. other member was having problem where the antenna sits.

You think the base of the antenna is pushing against the housing, thus causing the gap at the front? SO heating the tape before I install should insure a stronger bond? I do have a roll of 7.5lb double sided 3m tape that i brought at Home Depot. Those tape will rip paint off any surface you bond too.

From my experience on these 3M double sided tape, they only work good when the surface is very clean and hot, once the tape pilled off from the surface, they don't stick any more when you try to put them back the second time. If you have the stronger tape to use, you might want to try replacing the front section with that, but I will check with him tomorrow to see anything happen to the vg. Our CA weather is much better here compares to Chicago, but we still used heat gun to heat up the surface a bit before we put it on.

Looks hot! Still debating on the larger chargespeed FRP of course. 600 bucks for a chargespeed VG in carbon is a bit much.

does that just go over the antenna base as well? or do you need to remove the oem antenna base?
