Gates311: Video of Winter Progress
I could maybe come by later this month before heading out to CA? We'll see. Thanks dude!
Haha...it should definitely be fun
I think they were trying to keep the car streetable... Only way to get even close to 3,000 with a full interior would be carbon everything, and even then I think you'd be about 40-50lbs over 3,000. My lightest with full interior was 3,150 and if I added carbon/hood/trunk/roof/doors would be about 120ish lbs lighter (keeping glass and window motors).

Later, Ken
i'd take a wild guess and say with a full cage and a few more lbs lost, with a seat.. you should be sitting in the 28xx lb mark.
which would be infckincredible... now I am super anxious to weigh mine! haha.

There's so much **** in the shop haha, but ya the T/A is my friends and the old Z50's are some of my old pit bikes.
hey ryan, looking good. damn that's light.
so are you going to run glass or go straight into unlimited for redline?
also things are looking better on my end. have a motor going in next week so if the thing holds together for my nasa weekend shakedown run on the 21-22 i'll be seeing you out at bw the following weekend. can't wait to see your car in person with all the new work that's gone into it.
have a safe trip out here,
sean

There is no way I'll be in Unlimited haha, just Modified/Limited for me. Even then, I don't think the car will be competitive
See ya soon

From 3150 with full interior to 2743 is a lot of weight for an interior. Could you give some insight as to what weight came from where other than the spot weld drilling? How much did you get from the carpet and stuff if you can put a figure on any of those parts it would be helpful.
I've seen corvette's do a semi-gutting, where the car is basically gutted , but the carpet is left in tact to preserve the look of a full interior. I want to do something of that nature. Only need about 150 as opposed to a complete gutteration. Different car though obviously but wanted to get an idea as most guttings follow the same principals.
