Ryan, as always, car looks good, very good. Now a question: What happens when AMS TA car arrives at the same event you have entered? Or do you and AMS agree never to enter the same race? Just curious here. Would love to see the shootout.

Later, Ken

Thanks! AMS will be running in Unlimited, I run in Modified. Their car will be on a whole different level than mine.

Thanks for all the good words guys!

I have a pic of your car as my wallpaper. I also have an OB X so it is like an inspiration. The car is looking great! Let me know if you guys do another high-res photshoot so I can get my hands on a more up-to-date pic for my wall.

Hey Ryan,

Can you talk a little bit about your up coming tire choice.... I read in another thread you are going to be running a smaller tire soon, is this to reduce rotational mass? perhaps get rid of some understeer? I wanna hear your thoughts.

John,

It's not for sure yet, but after some more testing (tire temp analysis mostly) I might move to 245/40/18 NT01's on a 9.5" wheel. The 275's are difficult to get up to temp in such a short time and if I could keep the 245's in the optimal temp range (180-200F) it'd be a huge gain! The rolling weight of a 10.5" wheel and the thick 275's is crazy.

Yea, I could imagine the tire weight difference!

When i used to race c5 corvettes i moved away from the large tires as well, especially on the long tracks. But thats apples to oranges when compared to all wheel drive and rear wheel drive.... having the huge meat sure makes you look like a badass until you assess your needs and realize a smaller tire will run faster.

You could always invest in some tire warmers

John
