No words from the insurance yet about that but I think its going to be based off KBB.

Yeah, curtain bags went off, the steering wheel, and also there was one by the pedals which I was surprised with. Fortunately, yes, I have gap insurance.

I'm not sure if there is but the guy who had the bumper didn't even bother stopping. The insurance is saying its my fault for "unable to control the vehicle."

if there was a liscense plate on the bumper of the other car, then you would have a claim to their insurance. as for the KBB, I was going to refi mine last month and its listed at 27k KBB just for a ballpark figure.

Just a question though, what part of the semi did you hit. Was it head on, same direction, stopped, what speeds, etc etc.

I'm only wondering b/c the cabin of your X looks like it too the accident like a CHAMP and would have protected everyone in the car really well.

I was actually on the middle lane of the freeway going about 65-70mph. Then when the bumper came off the car in front of me, I swerved hard to the left and the car started to lose grip which surprised me. The car made a turn around and caught grip going straight to the first lane were all the semis are. I hit the wheel of the trailer which pretty much shredded the entire front of the car.

Glad to hear you're ok, and sorry about the car. Hopefully you'll keep it in the family and get another Evo. Good luck with sorting insurance and everything out.

Very sorry for you! I hope you will start again with another Evo...Glad you are okay! Don't forget to strip the car of your aftermarket parts! Or, show the receipts of those parts to the insurance company...Best of luck!
