Metra Dash Kit meets OEM Audio Dash

I decided to fabricate my own audio dash by combining my metra dash kit with the OEM one. I was tired of seeing the metra dash kit sag up top so I took action into my own hands. The end result came out similar to the JDM version. Let me know what you guys think.

First off I basically cut out the double din from the metra kit and removed all the option buttons on the OEM version, sorry did not take pictures of this part.

Next I bonded the two using ABS cement which can be found at your local hardware store.

Then applied some all purpose bondo (i know it's not the best bondo job)

Started the sanding process and touched up some spots with more ABS cement

Some more sanding

Primer and paint

Some more bondo and sanding came after this to fix the imperfections as you can see in this pic. After all was completed I was not satisfied with the job so I searched around to see what other options I had. Looking through some of my LancerEvo mags I found a X with a custom dash so it inspired me to do this next.

If you are wondering what this is it is suede. Now I am a simple guy and I have never been into customizing interiors, but I actually liked it. This step was very simple I just used some 3M adhesive spray and suede fabric.

The end result

No more sag and it does not look as boring. The fitment is obviously perfect being OEM and now all I have left to do is to pull the head unit back.

Again feedback is welcomed
