But to ppl removing the intercooler panels, those are there for a reason... they force air onto the intercooler.

 

+1..I'm no engineer, but it appears to me that space on the sides of the intercooler will allow the air pressure to be closer to equal on the front and rear of it; Thus less air will be pulled/pushed through it.
