These are off of a Ralliart. They just have a coat of tint on them. Im going to sand them down this winter and clear them. But I like that they dont look like the rest of them.

Man I'm sorry but its people like you supporting these knockoffs that hurts the aftermarket industry. These people spend their time and money to develop and make these parts for enthusiasts like us to buy and enjoy. The fact that in the end you just go around and get the knockoff pretty much slaps them in the face.

Here is a cut out from TheRealJDM:

"I’m extremely grateful for the support of this trunk project from MOST of the community. As readers of this blog already know, this trunk was one of the first products that Bulletproof invested in to develop. This trunk was never going to exist but we paid Do-Luck Japan’s R&D costs to build this trunk for us because we felt that the US market would enjoy it. And so far many people have!

At the same time there are still some people that just don’t get it…I just read 11 pages of posts on a message board about this particular client’s car and the trunk in particular. There were at least 5 people asking for someone to make a knockoff of the trunk. Are you serious? This trunk was not going to even exist because Do-Luck is already hurting from the knockoffs and they obviously don’t have the R&D budget to do so many new projects these days. I went ahead and helped them pay the expenses (removing their risk to make these trunks) just to have people ask for more knockoffs!? The Evo community needs to become more aware of what is going on with this industry and what these particular people are doing to it.

So let me state it clearly:

1. This trunk was not supposed to ever exist in the first place.

2. I went against my own better judgment and funded the R&D of this trunk because I believed in it after having great experiences with previous Do-Luck trunks...

If a knockoff comes out for that trunk, I guarantee the Evo community that we will not be funding any more development in the future."

IMO it looks cheap too.

are you serious? you sir, are a douchebag.

to some people, spending $1,100+ on a trunk that is purely cosmetic is unreasonable. especially in this economy, do-luck should be happy people are supporting their insanely priced items to begin with. i can't wait to put on some knock-off parts on my car.

just like buying that super expensive, high roller JDM lip that will get torn off on a speed bump the next day.

^^^ LOL

First of all, that is a cut out of a post from the guys at Bulletproof themselfs.

The reason you spend that money is so that you get a piece that fits perfectly, and does not need drilling, like the OP had to do on his.

Plz tell me why do-luck should b happy that someone is making a knockoff??
Think about it, they are after all a business. So their intention is to make some $$ by making products like this for us to enjoy. Not to have someone make a copy and profit from their R&D.

Go ahead, get knockoffs on your car. When it breaks, looks horrible, or just doesn't perform, you'll know ur the only one to blame.

Mendo, you're the epitome of what's wrong with America at the moment. Only big/luxurious/expensive companies should be supported and we should be forced into paying too much for something that someone else might offer for half the price and 80% the quality? hah. I for one welcome other people making a similar product for less price. It helps the market have competition and forces the luxury companies to lower their insane prices if they want people to still buy their products without being in the exclusive niche. Next you'll tell us they need a taxpayer subsidized bailout when they start to go under.

Again opinions are opinions and the internet makes them more easily heard.

All one is doing by buying a knockoff is telling the big company, cool you made it, now I'm buying it from this guy because its lower quality and thus cheaper. When the big company doesn't make a profit, then what?? Are they going to continue making their products? Giving the whole big business speech doesn't apply too well in this case since what is going on there didn't happen because ppl were coping their products and thus ripping them off.

Sry but I just don't support the knockoff business.

Phew, good thing we have at least a little bit of freedom left to choose what we want, and for companies to produce something they want for a lower priced market.

When a company doesn't make a profit, they fold (or go into bankruptcy and re-organize). They made a mistake somewhere and need to realize it. Capitalism is boss. Wait.. or they could just get a bailout and keep failing. That's the new American way.

I agree and Disagree with mendo...once a good company goes down where are the people that do the replicas? They'll be lost in stealing anymore good products...they'll be stumped in there own tracks...in making any more parts...just a bunch of OEM parts..

But....

it's true the economy is really bad and for those big companys that want to make money should give some of us a break in pricing...so if it comes to giving an arm and a leg or go for the cheaper replica version...people would turn to the replicas...

Just my 2 cents
