Awesome pics guys!! So, with the 265/35/18 on 18x9.5+22 dropped on Swift Spec R's will it require a roll? I know the question has been asked and asked but I never really saw a direct answer.

No, I have this exact setup, with Hankook V12 Evo tires.. and the only time I rub anything is at full lock in a parking lot.

Thanks so much! Finally a REAL answer lol. I'm going with the Gram Lights 57sx pro with the titanium finish.

not getting any love in the tire question forum, so I will post here..

Why do we not see more 255 on 18x9.5? I'm asking because my rpf1 18x9.5 +15 arrived yesterday and I need tires asap, but not sure what to get. Works springs, don't want to roll the fenders. I figured 255 40 18 would be my best bet, but worried since I don't see this combo much..

it is an interesting combo. I used to have 18x10.5 +15 rpf1's and I noticed when turning (((and I'm sure it was the width of the tire and not the offset))) but it was wearing away the vent at the bottom of the wheel well. That was with a 275 tire. I know with a 255 tire it wont rub I would just be wondering with the +15 if it would rub on the wheel wells. I doubt it though with a 255. Only one way to find out

Idk why the 255 combo isn't too popular, but I have 265 on mine and so does my cousin. My fenders are rolled but it was like that when I bought it, my cousin on the other hand has the same setup and hasn't rolled his fenders and he doesn't have any rubbing issues

Thanks. I was happy with the way it turned out too (went with the same size/offset on the wife's X too). Nice and flush and with a decent roll you don't need to run silly camber for it to work properly......we only run -1.5 up fron and -1.3 out back.

I don't see that 255/40 will have that much of a positive affect over a 265/35 to be honest. Sure it's a little narrower, but it's also somewhat taller which will likely counteract the advantages of the narrower section width. The different widths of the various tire makes/models (actual contact patch width rather than stated width) will no doubt have a bigger affect on clearance.

I agree, 255 35 would be better over a 255 40. I read somewhere that if you keep the overall diameter of the tire under 26 inches you should be okay... I need to find someone with works springs, rpf1 +15 and see what they're using for tires... I just dread having to find someone to roll my fenders.. cars brand new, and don't like the thought of someone screwing it up.

Because why would you stay with a 255 on a 9.5" rim when you can go big with the 275/35's and be almost the exact same diameter as the stock tires. Just roll the rear fenders and throw the meats on, you know you want to. FWIW I have the exact same rims, 18x9.5 +15 RPF-1 in SBC and Dunlop Direzza Star Specs 275/35-18 going on the car this weekend. I'll report back after this weekend if I'm getting any rub with the Swift Spec R and this setup, if not, I won't roll them, if so, then out comes the fender roller.
