APR and Charespeed oh my!

Ive had the apr vg for over a month now. I'm waiting for some warmer weather to install it. My quesition is did you do it yourself. I'm kind of reluctant to do so cause I've heard of some gap issues by the antenna. Did you just slap it on there with the 3m tape that comes with it? Our did you do something else. It looks awesome btw.
