Depo UICP + Engine Shot

Installed my Depo UICP last weekend. What a great piece!! Simple, good looking, and fits perfectly. Picked up a set of T-bolt clamps to do the job right.

Only about 3 weeks into owning my 2011 GSR

Pep boys Sceptre 3" filter. Just slips right over the MAF housing when you separate it from the airbox. 3" hose clamp, and you're good to go.

When you leave the snorkel and front half of the airbox in, you have zero idle issues from the fan. I'm running without a tune right now, but no problems thus far, and the butt dyno feels like the lower rpms smoothed a little.

Once i get my CBE i'll most likely be putting in a hard intake pipe to replace the accordion, and then i'll be getting a dyno tune, so we'll see what kind of numbers.

Thx

I do want to paint the valvecover cover to change the center section from red to blue (to closer match the octane blue), and change over the black silicone couplers to blue, but thats just because i'm color match obsessive It will also give me a chance to pull the UICP elbow that connects to the intercooler and either paint it wrinkle black, or have it powdercoated to match.

Any short ram, whether it's an actual intake or just a filter over the MAF (which he stated it was, read his posts, lol), will get heat soaked. Everything from the AMS short ram to even the uber nice ARC and Blitz stuff. Plus, all of that air gets heated up by the turbo anyway.

Honestly, I think this is a jank way to do the mod. And you used a crappy filter, too. A $20-something filter on this car isn't right. At least get a K&N or something.

You also have to be careful because I've heard of people doing this and screwing up their MAF because the filter flakes or if it's oiled it gets on the sensor and screws it all up.
