I was pissed off and agitated as f*ck since I just got the Voltex lip painted and installed. I also had to drive home with tar on it for an hour while the sun baked and hardened the tar. Once I got home, I busted out the clay bar and that didnt help at all. Then I tried degreaser but that didnt do anything. So my last option was Goo-Gone. That took it off with no effort at all. Goo-Gone made my day !

Well, I was pulling out of a plaza onto a main road. My car isnt slammed, its just that the Voltex lip sticks out pretty far and adding the splitter doesnt help but its my choice. Anyways, as I was pulling out, I mustve dug my front lip into the asphalt but I clearly remember not hearing a scraping sound or what not as I was pulling out. So I drove back to work and a few hours later, I noticed something black on my front lip. Thats when I realized I had fresh tar and asphalt on my lip. There was literally 3-4 lbs of this stuff sitting on top of my lip/splitter/fog grill. So I drove back to the plaza to see if I had driven over an area where there was road contruction. I scoped out the street and what did I find ? The area where I pulled out from had some work done on the asphalt. I saw how my lip dug in the ground and scooped up the asphalt. I shouldve been more aware of the exit area but I also blame caltrans for not putting an oragne cone to cover the freshly paved asphalt. Oh well... live and learn right ? I dont have pics of my car with the Voltex lip on yet since she's not ready to be shown yet...
