whats the "distance" function? distance traveled or distance to something in front? is it used for anything other than the speed and distance function? cause it seams kinda overkill for just being a speedo and odometer if thats all it does...
Distance function is probably used to list the distance to the next turn or feature in the stage.

In addition to the computer, you need to select and order a probe suitable for you your needs. The probe is the signal source and distance reference for the computer. Terratrip has three mechanical probes and one electronic interface. Two of the mechanical probes are used with mechanical Speedometer cables and one is mounted in a wheel hub looking at the heads of the hub bolts as the wheel rotates. The electronic interface is used in applications where the speedometer is electronic, not mechanical. The interface is installed between whatever is sending distance pulses to your speedometer and the Terratrip.
The 202+ and the 303+ can each be equipped with a wired remote control so the co-driver can operate the critical functions of the computer at a distance. This remote can be added at any time. From the factory, the 202+ and the 303+ can be equipped with a remote display for an abbreviated information display for the driver - please call for info.
