pretty easy

Torx T27 to remove the airbag on the sides, and a 17mm Deep for the center nut

remove battery + side cable, then

remove airbag, there is the horn (black) connector and the airbag (yellow). I have an MR so i had to turn the steering wheel slightly to get access to the two holes on the sides...









before removing OE wheel, use a grease pen or sharpie to mark TOP of the steering spindle so you know how to orient the new steering wheel- then remove OE wheel, swap over the plastic covers/switches, and tighten up the nut and re-insert the airbag.. test drive to see if the steering wheel is on straight.. and then...

i'm getting used to the thicker padding, but yes feels great! IMHO i would have probably liked the 1/16th thickness better, but i have been holding this steering wheel at work for the last week while i'm at the computer (you know making driving noises and smiling at bewildered co-workers) and the 1/8th thickness isn't too bad.. it's really what your preference is.. but overall happy with the mod. I can reach the paddle shifters no problem and i can still read my heads-up-display just fine.

Ok i think this is next mod. I need some insight on this though. price, time it takes and so on.

 

Don (the owner of DCSW) has a core exchange program, so you can place the order, get it made, and have the wheel sent to you, w/o having your car down. my core is due back to him later this week. (he was on vacation...) so really, its pretty nice.

or you can opt to purchase a spare steering wheel, so you can always keep your OE wheel for whatever reasons.

Price varies greatly on modifications and detail choices. Don has a price list where you can pick/choose from.
