Alcantara steering wheel cover installed!

Hi guys,

As you know the stock steering wheel leather is not exactly the highest of quality. Mine was starting to show some unsightly wear within weeks. This is unlike the steering wheels in my S2000 or Audi which were blemish free for years.

I just had my steering wheel wrapped with a Alcantara steering wheel cover from Redlinegoods. I am pretty pleased with the quality of workmanship. When I was looking into the options, I could only find one shop based in Texas which may mean you would have to ship your steering wheel to them. I decided to go with a local installer in the bay area who did a great job. It feels and looks so sexy now! Check out the pics below and let me know what you think.

Just wanted to let you guys know it can be done! If you are in the bay area, I recommend Jacks Auto Upholstery in San Mateo. Chuck was friendly and very responsive!

Thanks! I believe it was $160 on redlinegoods's site at the time. I had the upholstery shop install the wrap and they quoted four hours of labor.

Nice, my steering wheel is still in great condition.

So do you autoX or track your car at all? I'm in the bay as well. Do you go to any meets?

Any idea what their hourly rate is?

You should try autoX. It's much cheaper then track and safer.

Looks good except you left the ugly stock shift boot.

Right now, it looks like about $400 to convert over your old steering wheel?

I was going to consider it, but that price might make it a bit cost prohibitive. Though, they do have a How To on their site. I guess I should have taken home economics, huh. I don't think I have the skills to sew.

Did they steal your images or did you give them pictures of you car? They're the same:
