Painting calipers.

So I got quoted $450 to paint my calipers and I thought that was ridiculously outrageous. So I'm going to try and do it myself, I'm pretty good at painting and I'm just gonna try the duplicolor yellow paint out of the spray can. I'm gonna try on something else before actually painting my calipers. Just a few questions, do I need to sand down my calipers? Prime them? Or just paint right over them and do a few coats and a few coats of clear coat too? Any advice or suggestions would be great, thank you!

if i were you id get them powder coated over paint. paint will chip and fade sooner or later might as well spend the money and get it done the first time. if you still decide to paint them just make sure you prep it good and make sure all the paint is high temp including the clear coat.

I just did my calipers on my Ralliart Thursday. I did some minor sanding and sprayed them silver then purple over that. Took about an hour total and honestly for the time and money I spent Id paint them myself every time they need it. Plus if you wanna change colors you dont have to remove them and pay a ton to change the color you just respray them!
