Rexpeed CW Style Hood Scoop

Just picked this up and installed today.

Thought i'd share a few photos to show fitment etc.

Slightly off on one side but nothing really noticeable. The usual slight defect in CF weave but eh it's only a hood scoop!

All in all very happy with it. Very easy to install too.

Nice. I have one as well and mine is also slightly off on one side. Typical Rexpeed I guess.

I was gonna say I painted one for a customer, and it was slightly off on one side too...

you can just add a small washer to the lower side tho and pop it right back up.

from a guy who makes carbon, I thought it was pretty decent construction tho

looks nice.

is this for looks only or does it increase airflow to the heat shield?

Doubt it makes much difference to airflow, but i guess the 'intake hole' is a bit larger?!

^^^ it does make a difference as long as you take out the aluminum plate from the opening.
We also made the whole a bit bigger.

what purpose does the aluminum plate serve? is it to prevent birds/large debris from diving in?

I have no clue. The very first day i removed it. Looks really stupid and i cant see any purpuse if it if you opened a hood already there.

this coming from robevo himself, i'm gonna remove the aluminum plate. i'm all about increasing air flow under the hood and shedding unwanted weight.

thanks

Were you talking about the rexpeed hood scoop or just the intake hole in general as far as getting it bigger? I was just curious because I'd like to see some pics if you modified the hood scoop to make the hole bigger. I'd like to do the same. Thanks!

there is an aluminum guard behind the scoop and when you get the raised scoop you can see the aluminum piece...its an eye sore...I also cut in to mine...all you can see now is the strut bar
