Update. I returned and purchased another TS shifter form another vendor. Same crappy welding but the welds were only slightly better than the first. I said eff it, and just installed it like they said. I was really frustrated with the install because they do not include the CUP REMOVER anymore. Both of the shifters I bought did not come with one. Let me tell you... I wanted to quit because it was so difficult to remove without it. I ended up breaking one of my clamps as well as scratching up my OEM shifter and the cup itself trying to hammer the crap out of it. Probably spent almost an hour trying to get that thing off. Thank you TS.

After I installed everything the shifter works. I give it that. But it is difficult to shift because you have less leverage now. I won't blame them for that. I would probably try to switch it out to the Works in the future.

I'm not sure how you had such an issue. The welds on mine were great and it wasn't hard to install at all

Customer service from TS confirmed that these are the new shifters. They do not come chrome plated any longer, instead with that black coating. The crappy welding is going to be their standard now apparently. And no cup remover =(

Talking about torque solution short shifter, has anyone had problems with finding shift knobs for it? I currently have the oem one, but all the aftermarket ones I buy don't work. The worst part about this is that the aftermarket ones I buy are soppoused to be oem fit but they don't match the threading on the short shifter, but yet my oem shift knob does fit. Very confusing and frustrating because I've spent over 300 dollars on many shift knobs and I can't install any. Please help!!!

My shifter was not chrome plated and never came with a cup remover, so I'm not really sure why you even need that? I literally put this shifter in my car from start to finish in like 30 minutes with no issues what so ever and it's awesome for the price.

As far as the guy posting about the shift knobs I have the buyblackline.com titanium one and it threads on just fine. You sure you're buying the correct thread pitch?

I had this problem with aftermarket shift knobs and my TS short shifter as well. I've contacted them about it and they had no explanation as well. I had the NRG neo chrome that fit and screwed onto the stock shifter perfectly, but when it came to the TS short shifter I can only get about 1 1/2 turn onto it. So I just ended up buying a universal weighted knob that came with different size plastic inserts.

Yeah man, I'm gonna have to do the same. I hate the OEM knob and it kills me everyday to drive it with that thing. I'm gonna have to customize something on there so it can work. Thanks for the info though. I'm glad I'm not the only one that is going through it. I thought it was just me going crazy that I couldn't figure it out.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. I was about to place my order for a TS SS, but after reading about these problems I guess I'll stick with TWM or Works.

i ordered the works before i read this post.
I got the works because it moves the shifter closer to the driver side.

irrelevant to this post, but, just get works. its only $50 difference. that's like half a meal with you and your girl.

I just rethread shift knobs . The stock thread is m10 x 1.50 most if the other threads on the shift knobs are 1.25. I stole my brothers weighted Skunk 2 shift knob out his civic and rethread we it. Works great and the extra weight offsets the lost of leverage from the shorter length of the SS.
