Did you have to do anything specific to install that Pioneer Nav...was it as simple as removing the stock touchscreen head unit and replacing it with the Pioneer?

haha i wish - if you have a 2014 you need a MITO-03 harness adapter and PAC steering wheel adapter. THEN you need to actually have a guy from AXXESS come out to personally update the MITO since they don't work with the RF system out of the box. If you don't have the rockford package on the 2014 then I think you just need a standard radio harness and steering wheel adapter.

Strike AMS test pipe off your list. Akrapovic cat back bolts directly to your AMS down pipe. Not sure why they call it a cat back when it isn't really a cat back, it's "almost" a turbo back.

I know this because I have an AMS down pipe and akrapovic exhaust sitting in my garage awaiting installation

I can't agree more. These should be a mandatory lesson for every inexperienced enthusiast eager to jump into mods.

I never understand those people who put Ebay parts in their Evos. It hurts their car. If one is tight on budget, mod less but still mod with quality parts, or no mod at all. It's not like you end up in poison rooms for a crime against the Führer if you Evo is slower than your neighbor's STI/M/GT-R/Corvette/Porsche/whatever.

Planned mods

Engine/Driveline:

Stock for now!

Akrapovic Catback <- Will be a piece of jewel. Are you thinking about chrome tailpipes or carbon fiber wrapped ones?
AMS Transmission Cooler
AMS Intake <- Be mindful. AMS has both short ram ("performance") intake and cold air intake, make sure you get the right one you want
AMS Intercooler
AMS UIC Piping
AMS Downpipe
AMS Resonated Test Pipe
Protune
Aluminum Powdercoated Valve Cover
JMF Spark Plug Cover
Lightweight Battery

Interior/Exterior:

Valentine V1
OEM cargo organizer - mitsubishiparts.net
Phone mount - proclipusa
OEM JDM keyfob leather pouch - SMY performance
OEM leather-wrapped handbrake handle
Pioneer AVIC-6000NEX
Spare tire & tools removed for weight - replaced with tire sealant kit <- Great idea
Autodim Mirror
Black Alcantara Headliner <- Wooooph, This is sex!
Full Alcantara Interior
Roll Bar <- Sometimes I feel better relaxed in a nap without this bar on road trips.
Schroth Harnesses

Nokya JDM Yellow DRL bulbs - amazon
New car prep and opticoat - Detailer's Domain <- I heard some positive feedback saying it's a great product, kind of like Teflon that you car always looks like just waxed. I also want to hear more from you.
Trunk emblems debadged - Detailer's Domain
GSR chrome delete - mitsubishiparts.net
JDP Carbon Fiber Rally Lip
Rear fogs

Wheels/Suspension/Brakes:

H&R DRM 20mm spacers - JSC speed - only used with stock wheels
TPMS Disabled via ETACS
Volk CE28N <- Great choice
Michelin PSS <- Great choice
Aftermarket Lug nuts

Öhlins road and track coilovers - SMY performance, set up and installed by CBRD <- sex
Cusco strut towers
Whiteline 27mm rear sway

Girodisc SS lines
Girodisc rotors
Girodisc pads
Girodisc heat shields
Overall this is a great plan. May also consider high quality window tints and Kracka's shifter package.

wow that's good to know. I was always going to get the catback first, i'm most likely not going to make any mods to the car that would require a tune until my warranty is up.

did you order the Akrapovic test pipe with your catback? Maybe that is why you don't need the AMS?

I used to work at a subaru performance shop and the owner and the techs both had 500+ whp STi and WRX but NEVER went to the track - I NEVER understood what the point of that was. To spend $30k on a $30k car just to occasionally embarrass someone on the street??

Overall this is a great plan. May also consider high quality window tints and Kracka's shifter package.
If i go with the roll bar, I want to show it off haha. Also tints are technically illegal in my state and I'm not a fan of tinting just the rears. I'm not familiar with the shifter package but I have the SST - maybe it's for the 5spd only?

Akrapovic Catback <- Will be a piece of jewel. Are you thinking about chrome tailpipes or carbon fiber wrapped ones?
I think the options are either brushed titanium or CF but I'd def go with the CF. And I believe its actual CF, not a wrap
AMS Intake <- Be mindful. AMS has both short ram ("performance") intake and cold air intake, make sure you get the right one you want
Going with short ram - had an issue a long time ago with CAI, not worth the risk to me
Spare tire & tools removed for weight - replaced with tire sealant kit <- Great idea
Thanks
Black Alcantara Headliner <- Wooooph, This is sex!
to go with alcantara pillars and steering wheel
Roll Bar <- Sometimes I feel better relaxed in a nap without this bar on road trips.
It's a bolt in roll bar, they tell me it installs in 30 minutes, and uninstalls in 15 minutes
New car prep and opticoat - Detailer's Domain <- I heard some positive feedback saying it's a great product, kind of like Teflon that you car always looks like just waxed. I also want to hear more from you.
The opticoat is essentially an extra layer of clear coat - it just protects the car. I think you're referring to something like the Sonax polymer net shield which keeps your car looking cleaner between washes for longer. I have that on my car as well and since I live in an apartment complex, it's extremely inconvenient to wash my car so it's really nice to have the sonax PNS. There's no brushless car washes anywhere in my state and the closest coin-op charges $3 for 3 minutes of water and it's a $3 minimum.
Öhlins road and track coilovers - SMY performance, set up and installed by CBRD <- sex
I love these things so much, glad they were my first mod!

Discard previous, lol. I thought you car had a 5-speed. The shifter package is for 5-speed only.

If you live in an apartment complex, you should be concerned of various thieves:

1. wheel thieves

These are normally thieve-wannabe teens. Stealing wheels and selling them makes too little to be a business, thus preventing them from "evolving" into highly sophisticated professionals.

Collared locking lug nuts or other things of that nature should deter them. For you CE28s, you may also want a 2-way alarm system with a tilt sensor.

2. exterior mod thieves

They take your spoiler, front lip, of other exterior parts to flip for cash. These are also thieve-wannabes.

One way to deter them is to have UV-printing stickers on your valuable exterior parts.

3. smash-and-grab thieves

- do not leave valuables visible in your car
- part the car in well lit areas

4. ECU hacker thieves

They park a van next to your car, break your rear triangular window, unlock the door from the inside, pop the hood, unplug your ECU, plug in their own ECU, and drive away. The whole process literally takes less than a minute.

Then they will park your car in a remote area for a couple of weeks, just in case you have GPS tracking or cellular network tracking, and then chop shop your car or ship it to Eastern Europe to flip it for cash.

There are a number of things that can slow them down.

- Security window film
- Disable/remove door lock control buttons on the inside of rear doors ()
- Hood lock
- Alarm system that monitors if ECU is unplugs and with its standalone power supply
- Steering wheel lock
- Starter kill switch
- Fuel pump kill switch
- Gas peddle kill switch (if you have a remote starter)
- 2-way alarm system with a glass breaking sensor and with its standalone power supply
- GPS tracking system or LoJack type of systems

5. Tow truck thieves

They flap-bed your car away at like 3 AM in the morning, and then chop shop it or export it to gray markets.

These are extremely difficult to deter. Maybe a tracking system with warning stickers on the windows.

All in all, maybe consider a garage with a house attached to it for your beautiful Evo. I think the non-car people call it a "home" or something.

The system is usually ordered as the "evolution" system which is the test pipe back (use stock down pipe or other aftermarket dp). Or, you can order the slip on, which is just the axle back (bolts to stock system). If you wanted the lower part of the down pipe, it is ordered separately. But since you have the AMS down pipe no need for that. The Akrapovic test pipe connects to the mid pipe via a slip joint that is then clamped. Where as most test pipes are flanged and bolt to the mid pipe. For clarity, the mid pipe connects the test pipe to the axle back.

Where did you get the JDM key pouch from? I went to SMY performance website, and they only have subaru parts on there.
