Yeah I was just throwing that out there to let people know the guides actually do have a function.

not to derail this thread from the OP but i need to ask (yes noob question).

NeedBoost, I noticed you have an apillar with gauges. Does this have any impact on the airbag? Or you're just not concerned about it? I want to get gauges for mine and like the apillar look the best (cleanest/least clutter and most functional in my opinion), however I am concerned about the airbag getting deployed properly if an event like that was to occur (knock on wood).

Thanks.

I believe the actual pillar panel for the bags are supposed to move towards the windshield when the bags deploy, away from the driver. I really doubt that even the stock panel is supposed to fly towards the driver. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I may be wrong so someone correct me if that's the case.

Thanks Chipper, that does make a lot of sense and seems the most logical for how it should work. Is anyone able to verify and confirm this and that my concern is unwarranted?

Chipper is right. The gauge pod I got was actually a modified OEM pillar (DSG from Canada - took 9 months to receive from date of order ). Same clips, same harness, will do the same thing the OEM one would do (in theory) in the event of a deployment.
