17" wheels?

Will my stock 17 inch VIII wheels with snow tires fit on a X? Or would I have to lay out for a new set of 18's?

It depends on whether or not the x has the same bolt pattern as your evo...

As far as I have seen it is both the same pattern and similar offset. The question will be the brakes. The new design my not allow for 17" wheels. We really wont know until someone tries it

We also tested fitted our 18x8.5 Agency Power wheels which fit perfect and test fitted a stock EVO IX MR wheel in 17x8 which was a NO GO.

Well it looks like re-using the snow tires/wheels from the 8 isn't going to work.
Add $700+ to the price of a new 10 if I want to have winter traction action.

I need to test fit my 17's still. They have enough clearance in spec's, but that isnt a guarantee. Ill try it tomorrow. God, I hope they do. I cant imagine paying for 18in snow tires and wheels. Thats gonna cost a fortune.

As Robi said....won't happen. Southcoast tried to fit a 17" IX MR wheel on and it did not fit with the brakes

Well, not that I didn't believe you guys, but they wont fit. In fact, I think its safe to say no 17in wheel will fit. We already knew the stock Enkei's didn't, but I just tried the 5Zigen FNO1R's, or whatever that number is, and they didn't fit either. The issue is the wheels inner diameter isn't large enough for the breaks.

I already have a great set of snow tires for my already purchased 17in rims. Now I have to go buy another set of 18in rims and 18in snow tires. Woohoo 2k down the drain.
