springs install?

springs install?

i can't find a DIY springs install, but i just pick up Works springs and like to know if installing is the same for the X like for the VIII/IX?

Trying to save money and get it done myself

I did my wifes springs on her 08 lancer... piece of cake... no DIY or anything, very straight forward and it was my first time...

dude soo easy took me a little less than 2 hours, on floor jacks and did it in the driveway! LOL

took longer to remove the wheels................ LOL

I have to buy a spring compressor? Besides that it looks easy. Where did you place the floor jacks? ........ besides the floor

The included instructions should lay out the procedure pretty well. If you didn't get a copy in the box, shoot me an email: jeasley@worksmotorsports.com Yes, a spring compressor (and an impact gun) will make the job easier. They can usually be rented/purchased from an auto parts store if you don't have a set. Jacking points are outlined in the owner's manual (basically at the notches along the pinch weld running down the side, the rear diff and the crossmember up front if you have the undertray off).

What happens if I don't use a spring compressor? Will the spring just launch into space when I remove the top hat on the struts?

that and you wont be able to get the new ones on the strut. Think about the amount of weight they hold up, i doubt anyone can compress them enough with bare hands.

just be safe and use the right tools.
spring compressors and air tools do wonders.
