Graspic DS-2 DSST CTT - Decent??

Looking for a cheap set of winter tires. Not sure if I'm going to have the money to cough up for blizzack's I wanted to get. These are pretty much the cheapest winter tires I could find for the X on tire rack. Anyone know if they're garbage? decent?

What kind of snow fall do you experience? Mostly snow covered roads during the winter, or mostly pavement with the occasional snow fall?

Consider the fact that the Evo is already a very intelligent AWD system with a snow-specific program (the Evo 9 had the tarmac/gravel/snow switch, does the X?), you are ahead of the game.

Consider getting a decent set of all season tires, and I feel that would be sufficient if, in fact, you will be spending most of the time on pavement that has been plowed.

If you experience tremendous snowfall and your roads aren't clear most of the winter, then I'd say go for these snow tires.

I am in PA which has its rural areas...I live on a mountain that we get a good amount more snow than lower elevations at times, but with my Evo 8 I had Michelin Pilot A/S' and I could drive as well as when I had Michelin X Snows.

Good luck with your choice!

Yea we get pretty heavy snow fall, and yes the X does have the Tarmac/Gravel/Snow SAWC settings. Even being ahead of the game, I don't want to get terrible snow tires and jeopardize such an awesome car. Oh and I don't want all seasons because I have the Yoko Advans for summer tires already, it wouldn't make much since for me to go with all seasons since I have a nice set of summer tires.

Ray, I understand what you're saying, but I think I didn't exactly make myself lucid.

I meant go with all seasons, not for the sake of using them during the summer, but using them for the sake of their snow capabilities yet being able to maintain adequate traction and usability when there is plowed pavement.

Snow tires are great, but most often are so one-sided that they lack usability for the road when the snow is absent.

I was just saying, weigh the options you have i.e., how much you really need the snow tires.

Either way, the Dunlops for the price will do quite well. Good luck

Thanks, I'll definitely look into some all seasons as well.
