The X can pull some G's

Here's a video mixed with some GPS data from this weekend:

I'm on 245/40/18 Dunlop Star Specs and Stance GR+Pro SSD coilovers (14kg).

And squeaky Ferodo DS2500 pads

I have just a sony digital camera on a cheap ($18) mount from Best Buy.

I have a cobbled together MaxQData system ($60 GPS unit, borrowed from work PDA, free 1Hz version of MaxQData [which is why the data jumps in big chunks]).

I wrote the software that merges the MaxQData system data with the video.

You can buy (for $200) software (TrackVision: http://trackvision.net/) which does something like what I did (but much nicer).

I am a software developer by day... so I like playing with this stuff. The software is VERY raw though and likely noone else would be able to use it :-/

I'd like to be able to draw the little plot like TrackVision does, so I'll likely do that next.

How do you like these Dunlops over the stock Advans? Are they stickier?

They are MUCH stickier and the sidewall is much stiffer.

The tread looks more like an R-Compound after I've been on the track. Not as sticky as an R-Compound.

There is a reason these were the #1 tire at the Solo Nationals this year.

Working on a new version to overlay the map too... I need to get the 10hz version of the logger... only getting data every 0.7 seconds is killer for the resolution!

OK here's a video of Evo_Someday in my X at the same event. This run was app. 3 seconds slower.

I made the text smaller and added a map on the top right.

Here's the original video all updated with the mini-map:
