Performance Winter vs Studless Ice & Snow
Can anyone give a good description of the difference between these tire types?
Which are better for overall grip in snow/slush/ice conditions? Which are better for cornering in such conditions? Which are better for highway 60mph stability? Which are better for starting/stopping? Hill Climbing? Dry/wet weather? You get the point
I'm looking at Dunlop Winter Sport 3Ds, Blizzaks LM-25s, and Blizzak WS-60.

I just got a great deal on a set of Blizzak MZ-03. They are studless snows. I was hesitant at first but could not pass up this great deal.
Studless snows are usually Q rated as opposed to Performance winter which are V rated. This means the tires are only rated up to 99mph .
You will get great snow and ice performance but cornering is at a bit of a loss.
This pretty much tells the story.

Go with the 3D's - you won't be disappointed in any area. There has been a lot of discussion on http://www.iwsti.com about snow tires and the 3D's specifically. Search there for my posts (same screen name) for lots of info and discussion.
