Second Set of rims
Second Set of rims
hey all,
I know this topic has been covered before but no thread seems to have definite answer. I have searched and cant seem to find out if you can program 2 sets of rims to the car. I really want to be able to program a summer set and a winter set of rims to my car that way i dont have to constantly unmount tires off my stock rims. Or pay the dealer 60 bucks to re-program the sensors so they work with my car. Really hope i can program two sets to the car as it is something that would save a bunch of time. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

unfortuately the maximum allowable number of tires to be programmed is 4 + 1 for the spare tire. even if you did program 2 sets of wheels (which isnt possible with the MEDIC), the computer will set codes when it cant find the other set (that are in your storage lol)
i hope in the future they can find a way to do that. if enough people complain it might happen.

So basically, its almost not worth getting a second set of rims because in the end we still have to pay money to swap and its not something you can do too easily. Is there any way the Cobb AP can help us re-program? This would be a VERY big selling point. It really stinks that they have to be re-programmed every time, and that we cant program them ourselves.
I think it's just a matter of time before we have the option to do it ourselves. Afterall, the tool that they use to reset the TPMS sensors to the vehicle plugs into the OBDII port as well. I've seen a cable and PC program available that lets you do this on a BMW...
The whole TPMS reprogramming situation is a pain in the ***.
I think I'm going to just buy sensors for my new set of wheels in anticipation that one day I'll be able to reprogram them myself. My biggest concern is the fact that a Mitsu dealer will want to void my warranty once they see the intake, exhaust, and whatever other mods I have. I'm going to try a different car dealer to see if they have the same tool required.
