Coilover Fitment Chart

Thought it would be a good idea to start a fitment thread for coilovers on the Evo X. Spring rates already exist in their own sticky.

I think it would be helpful to list the coilover spring heights and clearances front and rear to particular wheel fitments/offsets, as well as indicating ride heights. For example, some coilovers utilize 200mm springs with lower perches at or below the centerline of the tire sidewall, and others use 150 or 180mm springs that sit at or above the top of the tire. This design parameter will seriously affect wheel clearance and interference/contact with the lower perch and or spring depending on wheel offset. The wider your aftermarket wheel selection is, the more potential contact may occur (of course the lower the offset number, the better for inner strut/shock clearance regardless of possible fender clearance issues that may result).

The benefit of this knowledge will be in selecting the proper wheel offset when contemplating a coilover upgrade now or in the future. You could possibly purchase a good wheel fitment now, only to realize that your newly purchased coilovers will come in contact with your new wheels, thus necessitating the purchase of wheel spacers, which although fine to use, not necessary if the proper wheel offset is selected in the first place. This information is especially criticle for those thinking of 18x10.5 ET35, which just barely clear the stock struts. BTW, the stock 18x8.5 ET38 wheel, just barely clears a coilover with 200mm length springs set below the top of the tire.

Chart:

Coilover Name
Spring length (in mm)
Ride height F/R ("drop over stock)
Lower perch location (in relation to tire sidewall)
