coil over setting & adjusting
coil over setting & adjusting
First... I am trying to decide if I should install my coilovers temporarily with the stock wheels/tires (18x8.5 - 245/40), although I have some (18x10 - 265/35) due in a few weeks. My concern is that if I get an alignment now and then end up needing to lower the car further I will need to get re aligned?
Second... Should I drive the car, to settle the suspension, before my alignment?
Finally... If I never race my car how important is a corner balance? I am asking because I am afraid that I would have to sacrifice the looks of the car in order to achieve the perfect cross weight. The only reason I am getting the coil overs is to get rid of some fender gap and give the car a little rake. So if I had to choose between a 50% cross or my ideal stance I would take the stance.
Thanks in advance,
-Tom

If all you do is put around at normal road speeds, then cross wieght etc probably not important. IF you occasionally push your car other than in a straight line, it could catch you out.
There is no reason you should not be able to have both though. A few mm of ride height will put enough cross weight in to get a good balance without you being able to notice. Additional rake might change that a little.
