had my eibachs installed yesterday

i noticed that the right rear spring bottom seat has a 1 finger space between the end of the spring and the end of the seat.. that perch that stops the spring

is this a problem? i don't hear any noise and the drop is perfect.. got it aligned already so i don't want to take it apart just to rotate the spring by half an inch

i hope this makes sense..

 

is there a gap the entire way around at the bottom of the spring?

 

no just a 1/2 inch gap between the end of spring and the metal indent that stops the spring on the seat

 

anyone ??

by the way im not talking about a vertical gap.. but a hortizontal gap between the end tip of the coil and the metal perch that stops the spring from rotating down further

I'm not an expert by any means but if it's just a 1/2" space there it shouldn't be a problem to leave it alone. Worst case it will seat itself if it wants to over time which might slightly effect aligment but likely not too much. I think it's why people wait a week or so to get the car aligned after getting springs so that everything can settle and seat itself. I would imagine that you could weld in a spacer of sorts to raise the ride height slightly for a set of springs that were too low as well, assuming they would still seat in the perch.

 

I had that problem when I installed springs on my wifes SUV. It was fine for a week or two and then it made some clunking noises when you turned the steering wheel in low speed driving (like a parking lot). I reseated the springs and the noise went away.

I'd say leave it alone and if you hear some noises, you'll know what it is.
