HRP Coilover Covers for Evo X

One of our biggest pet peeves is how we enthusiasts can spend loads of money on nice coilovers for our cars, but can't avoid the coilovers becoming dirty, corroded, and sometimes even damaged from exposure.

So we've taken an idea from dirt bikers and applied it to the Evo.

Here is your normal, exposed coilover suspension on the Evo X. This particular one is the T1R B52 model, which does come with dust boots. Amazingly, some coilovers still do not come with dust boots. This is on our demo car, which we clean very often. Yet you can still see all the sand and tiny rocks that get stuck to the coilover.

Here's the coilover cover installed. It's made from dernier nylon, is relatively waterproof, and will shield the coilver from all the road debris, mud, sand, etc.

Another angle, you can see the cover protects the entire body from the upper mount to the lower leg. The spring, damper shaft, and height adjustment threads are all protected. Some of you may have experienced spring perches that have become seized due to exposure (remember the old school Teins?). With the cover, all you have to do is rinse it off every so often, or just take it off to clean it.

And another pic, off of the car:

It works great for any daily driver, especially you live an area with lots of rain or snow. Obviously good for rally and off-roading!

Is there a possibility of exposure to high temperatures? If so, is it capable of witstanding possible high temperatures in that area.

Very good idea though.

I want that cover!

These coilovers looks pretty nice, but I've owned KW's before and want them again. Nice setup either way!

I was looking at the Dirtbagz version of these as I installed Robispec KWs this summer (yeah, I know the KWs are supposed to hold up but I just blew 2600 on them and not willing to risk it). You can get them made to size.....I just have not had time to take the wheels off to measure yet.

THey use them for Baja racing so I am thinking that heat is not a problem.

We've used the covers during track days and at Redline Time Attack with no heat issues. Of course daily driving is no problem also.

These covers are commonly used in offroad racing, ie. ATV, dirtbike, rally, so they do work under extreme conditions.
