new pad question
new pad question
I just replaced the first set of oem brake pads with the Ferodo DS2500 since a lot of members here have positive review on it. Im using these as DD.. but immediately after switch pads, i feel the stopping is sluggish.. on oem, a HARD brake feels like the tires stopped instantly and the car want to shift forward. Now it feels like i cant come to complete stop on stop signs/lights.. Do these semi kinda track pads just feel this way? or could it be the shop didn't bleed my brakes right? feels stiff still.
Did you bed your pads properly after installation? This might help:

Yes there or instructions in your Ferodo box for the proper "bed in" procedure. It takes time to ware off the transfer layer from your previous pads and for you new pads to apply their transfer layer. If you do not bed your pads in the right way you will never ware that old layer off and your braking performance will never be at its best. This could laos lead to other problems like pulsating pedal like your rotors are warped, pad compression, and noisy brakes.
As others have said, it sounds like you haven't bedded the pads in properly. Bite will increase quite a bit if this is done properly. Here's something I recently put together on the topic that should assist you: http://www.essexparts.com/learning-center/Bed-in Good luck!
