stock suspension // stock wheels

any good for rally?

recommend a specific tire with the stock wheels?

 

Stock suspension and Wheels are not a good choice for Stage Rally.

AMR makes a nice well priced gravel coilover for the X, if you are looking to spend a bit more money Ohlins and RS&SP both offer great products.

For wheels you will want to have a 15 inch rim. Hankook, BFG, and Silverstone all make good rally tires.

When you say "rally" do you mean full blown sponsorship or?? Because you can rally any car in any way you want actually. I have seen bone stock Evo's Rally on the Tarmac. If you have a Tarmac Rally I think you could do it, you may not be competitive, but you could do it. If your on Gravel, or Snow, that ACD button isn't going to help you. You need more suspension travel, and better rebound and jounce that the OEM suspension can offer, hence the need to upgrade it. Can you put 15" on the X? Sure you can just like the 8/9 but you have to switch your Calipers and Rotors to do it. Do yourself a favor, don't Rally your new X unless your really serious, look for a good used Evo 8/9 if your in the USA and mess with that. Good Luck
