I just asked the same question a few days ago on 'the other forum'. Basic jist of it was they're about as good as it gets in the snow, but suck on dry pavement. A good winter-only tire, not a good all-year-round tire. The sidewalls are too soft, which results in unpredictable cornering behavior and slower steering response.

well that sucks. I'm looking for an all season tire until I get a set of beater rims for winter.

Can you recommend a good all season tire? I'm not looking to do any track days anytime soon if that helps.

Go with the re960as pole positions. They cost a bit more than most, but if you're running them all year, its worth it. Eagle f1 AS are also a good choice.

I'm only looking to run all seasons for a few months a year, so I'm probably going to get the Yoko Envigors. They're new and owners are happy with their dry/wet performance, but they're essentially untested in the snow... so its a gamble in that regard.

A buddy of mine had them on his 2010 Speed 3 and didn't like them. Too soft.
