Swapping out summer tires...

Hello, its that time of year again and hopefully some snow will be coming soon, so that means I need to swap my tires. Does anyone have recommendation on tires, I'm thinking of going with an all season since my stock advans will be shot probably next season...

I went with these, http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....utoModClar=GSR they are great in the rain, good tread ware, have never had a problem with spirited driving on dry roads and we will see how the winter goes. The tread is nice and aggressive with little road noise.

I've heard bad things about these particular tires from people that have driven 30,000+ miles on them. I've heard that they are pretty bad in the rain even brand new. I've also heard that they wear uneven, but It's funny that you say they're good though. I may have to revisit them as a possible winter option. How many miles have you put on your set?

I am very close to purchasing a set of these http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....autoModClar=MR.

Does anybody here have any feedback on them?

My other option are the Goodyear Eagle GTs.

Alot of people will tell you their preference. I will give you some things to think about. If you go with an A/S, there are some things you need to know. 1) the best A/s will NOT grip as well as a decent summer tire in the summer. 2) The A/s will not perform as good as a dedicated winter tire. Alot of us have a dedicated winter and summer set. If you can swing it financially, that would be your best bet. Short term cost you some more dolars but long run you'll be much happier. Some people including myself beleive that a A/S is not truelly for all seasons. I mean if you don't get snow or temps dont get down that low, you might be alright with A/S tires. But ultimately up to you.

Ive had GY eagle f1 all season on 3 different cars now. Good dry, wet, and snow. Granted, it wont tear through snow like a real snow/ice tire but you will be able to move reliably and relatively confidently.

this is also my first experience with the evo in the winter, how is it in the snow (I know everyone says they are awsome) but what are some of the pros and cons of the sawc that people have come across?

I had Kumho ASX they did ok in light snow, I did slide quite a bit. Also did an auto-x event with them just for ****s and giggles, it was not a good idea. They wore unevenly and were loud as hell.

Currently running Eagle GT's far better then the ASX, no more sliding in light snow. They performed well when I auto-x with them and road noise is ok, not quiet but aren't as loud as the ASX.

Cons? The thing is simply beast with snow tires on it. Your only problem is if you lowered the car. Even at stock height the wheel well clearance can be a little trouble...I was constantly kicking/scraping the buildup out of the rear tire well.

these are the #1 tires in their respective class

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....utoModClar=GSR

I picked these up. Going to have them mounted on my stock wheels this weekend. They get solid ratings across the board. Including all depths of snow, tread-wear, and road noise.

Irrelevant. but I think the tread pattern looks awesome haha
