Blizzack ws60 vs ws70

Anybody know if there's a difference between the ws60 and ws70?

I'm asking because if I was given the following tire options from my local tire comany:

ws 60 245/40 18

ws 70 225/45 18 for $105.00 less.

I don't know what to go with on a new X? I have the stock wheels. Thanks in advance for advice

I believe the WS60 to be the old model. I could be wrong though. search on tire rack. But 100 buck difference, not worth it. check out the dunlop wintersport 3d's. alot of us run them and love them. and they are speed rated for those dry days......

I will check out the dunlaps. I will probably go with the blizzack's because I have a friend that is a dealer and he's giving me his employee discount..

So, going with the smaller tire 225, which is like a 1/2 inch is not worth the hundred bucks? I was guessing it wasn't, but was unsure because some people say go with a smaller tire for winter. I'm in KC, so we get a fair amount of snow at times, but the streets are mainly clear.

mostly when they say smaller tire they mean narrower. reason being it easier to push an escort thru snow than a bus in terms or width. try to stay stock width 235. not all tires run a true 235. if it says 225 it is slightly stretched but some companies a 225 is like a euro stretch. summer wouldnt be bad on a 225 but with ice chuncks and such better to have more cushion around rim than less.
