18x10 15 too problematic?

Hi guys, I'm a newb when it comes to rim sizing on the Evo X. I just bought 265/35/18 v12's for my Evo X MR and might buy some rims to go with it. I found some rims in the size: 18x10 15.

My car isn't lowered but I plan on lowering it in the future with springs (not too much). Would I have problems because the offset is too low? This is my daily driver and I want to avoid headaches. Please advise. Thanks in advance!

I don't mind rolling the rear fenders, but would I have to run ridiculous camber?

If you want to play it safe (which it sounds like that's probably the best for you...) Just go 18x9.5 +22.

With any aggressive setups, you will have to 1. do fender work and 2. run a good amount of camber.

I personally don't see a point in going with an aggressive fitment if you aren't gonna have an aggressive lowered "stance" (god I hate that word) to match.

18 x 10 with a 15 offset isn't too bad. I'm running 18x10.5 +15. I think the 10" wheel would still require rolling the rears and adding a little camber. Neither is a very "problematic" thing to accomplish. I agree with the comment that if you're gonna run an aggressive offset wheel it needs an aggressive stance as well though.

Rubbing issues are the worst, but if you are fine on having someone roll/pull your fenders and quarter panel's, then definitely go with that wheel size. It will make for an awesome stance.

Those rubbed for me just barely in the rear. Supposedly my 265 Toyo R1R's tread runs slightly wide for their size. I rolled the rears and am good to go.

I have seen people run these wheels with no rubbing, just depends on the tire.

265/35/18 V12s on Rota Grids (18x9.5 +20) fit no problems on stock height X GSR. The fronts rub a little bit on full lock, but otherwise no issues.

Those tires in 265 on a 10" rim will have moderate sidewall streach. I have the same tire and same size on 9.5 +15 and no problems at all lowered with Swift Spec R's. The 9.5 has a little sidewall streach which I wanted to increase turn in bite on this softer sidewall tire. I would think on 10's the streach would bee too much and the rim lip would stick out.

edited to add: I run -2 in front and -1.2 in the rears 0 toe all around. Gives me good / even tire wear.

I have to disagree with that assessment of the 265's on a 10" wheel being stretched too much. I'm running 275's on a 10.5" wheel:

Close-up of one of the tires:

Granted, different tires will vary in size, but I ran a 245 on a 9.5" wheel on my previous car. That was stretched a little but still not too much:

(sorry, best pic of the rear tires that I have from that car)

You'll definitely have rubbing at full lock on the front inner fender wells and likely rubbing in the rear if you're lowered at all and don't either a)roll the rear fenders and/or b) add camber.

How do you run that much camber with just springs, with camber bolts? I want to go with 18x10 and 265/35 tires, with Swift springs but can't find a good verdict on what's exactly needed to make sure it clears. I'm perfectly fine with pulling and rolling fenders, but I don't want to do coilovers with camber plates quite yet.

For reference: 18×10.5 +15 Volk SE37k Wheels 285/35-18 Hankook R-S3 Tires just barely fit with fender rolling in the rear and stretching the front fender plastics with a heat gun. That near stock diameter tire combo is 40mm wider than stock and 2" wider wheel and right at the limits of fitting as you need -2.8* front and -2.4* rear camber to keep it all happy and tucked.

Running 275's or even 265's would be smaller diamter tires and help make it all fit without as much hassle.

Going 1/2" wider wheel than you need is fine, but I hate the look of stretched tires when you go past that range.

Ray's Evo X at this stage was: 18x10 +18 with HAnkook V12 (265/35/18)
Rear fenders are rolled only.
No rubbing.
Camber was approximately: -2.5 all around
*Tried looking for a wheels fitment picture he posted somewhere....*

You you should be fine with rear fenders rolled at stock ride height, however if you plan on going lower, with stock camber settings you might rub in the rear.

But how about with just springs (like Swifts) and stock camber bolts? I believe the max for front is 1.5 and rear is 1.2, would this be enough to allow 18x10s with 265/35 to fit with just fender rolling?
