Brembo paint cracking :(

I was about to clean the car when i noticed my Brembo's paint cracking ><! It looks like it was leaking but no sign of any liquid anywhere besides the paint cracked..

Last time i can think of any work being doing to my brake system was when i took it to southcoast to get the Master Cylinder replaced, but never payed attention to the caliper till today . I checked the others and they all look fine except for the drivers side one.

Here are some pics.

Have any of you noticed this on yours? Im not sure if i should worry about it leaking in the future again.

Did you ever bleed your brakes yourself?

The same thing is happening to my Brembos. So is this covered by warranty?

Looks like brake fluid spilled while flushing the system after they replaced the master cylinder. This is why it's so important to have brake fluid cleaner handy when working on your brakes so you can completely wash away any excess fluid that spilled. The fluid will eat through the paint if left on the caliper like seen in your pictures Excess heat can also cause paint issues on Brembo calipers but that clearly isn't the case here as the rest of your calipers (area away from the bleed screw) look brand new!

Mine did this on my Evo IX at about 30000 miles. Dealer replaced all 4 under warranty.

Same thing happened to mine when I flushed the brake fluid and I made absolutely sure that I cleaned it all off. I wiped up all the residual fluid, sprayed it down with cleaner, rinsed it with water, and dried it off. Nothing really came out of the bleed nipple either. I have no idea how any fluid was left over.

My brakes have never been bled and are doing this too. First one was the drivers side, now the passenger side has started. Pisses me off. My IX did it as well. Paint is junk on these calipers. I'm not even sure I want to fight with the dealer as I have slotted rotors (don't have stockers anymore). I'm sure they'll try to blame it on that.

Went to my dealer for the regular 1-year maintenance and asked them about the brembos. They told me that the brakes weren't covered by the warranty and I just stood there confused (wtf does my warranty cover?)... This is a dealership that I go to for every oil change and every 6-month maintenance [yeah i'm spending alot of money ]. Can anyone help with what I should do? Please let me know! Thank you!

You actually go to the dealership for oil change and maintence? Wow... You must really like spending money.

I live in Virginia. I got to American Lube. They do all my fluid changes and have done so in every vechile I have owned in past 3 years. Dealership prices are ridiculous.

When it comes to getting your brakes done, I highly recommend checking out

http://www.onadimepb.com/

When I ordered my Wilwood brakes for my 350Z I sent them to these guys and they lasted and are still in great condition. No cracks, no splits, not one issue what so ever. They do custom powder coating and custom painting and it doesn't break the bank either.
