When i tried to put air in my tires this morning the valve stem broke off.

Can the valve stem be replaced without replacing the tpms sensor or is it one unit?

when mine broke i thought they were one unit so I had it replaced and reprogrammed for a grand total of $150 with labor. (sensor was 60).

At the time I did not have a spare set or an extra TPMS to look at to see if it was one piece before going to the dealer. I did have an extra TPMS from a toyota scion tc, and it was clear it was one unit with out any possibility of removing the stem, so i assumed it was the same for ours....

Months later, I did find one member on another forum who was able to remove the valve stem.



He never commented on how he did it or if it was a functional fix. as he did it simply to prove me wrong. the problem is mitsubishi does not sell this valve stems separately (they may now).

I have a spare set of TPMS in storage if I have time i may go retrieve them to see how he was able to separate the sensor from the stem.

Currently they do not just sell the valve stem and you have to order the sensor along with it

Is there a tire shop that can sync the new tpms besides the dealer?

 

that sucks, i have a spare set that i want too sell but i cant post on the marketplace because im not "full member" to post
