I personally like to advise against SS brake lines for street cars; they just don't seem to handle the day-to-day abuse of daily driving. Both Smike and myself had failures in the past which is really scary while braking on the highway. If I were to do them again though I would purchase from a big name such as StopTech like you mentioned.

I pretty much exclusively use ATE brake fluids (blue and amber); great specs, 1L metal cans, and 1/3 the price of Amsoil DOT4.

Avoid Hawk HPS pads, and honestly don't bother with HP+ either. I like Hawk track pads, but really don't like HPS and HP+.

KNS brakes (EVOBrakes) is a great place to shop though.

Why don't you like the HP+ pads? Just curious.

Also, what us your opinion of the DTC-30 and DTC-60 pads?

That is the best deal that I could find. I haven't spoken to that guy in a while, but I believe that you can substitute HP+ pads for the HPS for a small up-charge. I, personally, would do that. Those rotors are what I use on my car. They may not last as long under extremely heavy braking, but they are really cheap to replace and readily available. For a road car, they are ideal.

You can also use a DBA 4000 series rotor, and those will last longer. However, they are twice the price. I happen to know that DBA recently discontinued certain colors in their two-piece rotor range. If you can find those somewhere, they will be dirt cheap. As was said before, DBA rotors tend to go above and beyond the call of duty. A lot of the big, brake dealers in the US use DBA rotors on their own cars.

We're still here!

We've got X rotors and pads in stock. DBA, Centric/Stoptech, Hawk, Carbotech and Ferodo.

Cquence is pretty obviously machines the centric rotors and sells the centric pads. Don't get that drilled rotor especially if it's a 121 C-TEK BLANK.

I remember talking to you guys awhile back about Racing Brake guide pins for C6 Z06 calipers. Anyways, I will soon be in need of some new rotors and Ferodo pads. You will be who I go to, as your prices cannot be beaten.

HP+ are okay, but they're too loud to be a street pad and don't quite have the performance of a full track pad. So it's sort of an in between thing that doesn't work for me personally.

The DTC series is all pretty darn good. Ken kicks *** and knows brakes.

I have HP+ on my street only STi and they make very little noise but I have the Stoptech ST40 332 mm front kit. They are in fact pretty much silent until it gets down below 30-35 degrees.

If you ask me - Brembo ripped off Mitsu, Subaru, Nissan and GM - and probably got lucky with the others.

All but Nissan use the D1001 pad shape caliper and Nissan uses the D960 and they are probably the noisiest calipers I have worked with.

Modest street pads like HPS, Bobcats, Stoptech's and what not - they are usually quiet other than at a few certain combinations of speed/braking/temp etc - and even then it's just a bit of not that loud squeal

.HPS in those Brembo's can shriek like a banshee and considering it's MOSTLY a street car I would give them an F.

That must be it. I used HPS and HP+ pads in my Z06 calipers, and they were dead quiet. However, that was a drastically different setup.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I was able to work out a deal with them and get the high carbon rotors in same premium design with slots only at 200 bucks shipped. Thanks for the recommendation=). I looked around and couldn't get a better deal.

I shot them an email. I asked if I can get them slotted only (like the performance series). They also recommended that I get slotted only in high carbon since I do some light tracking. Supposively the high carbon last 2-3 times longer and stays cooler then the standard brake rotors.

So I asked them for the best price and that is what they gave me. They were pretty quick to respond .

Now for some performance pads. I was thinking about going with STOP TECH street performance brake pads. Has anyone here used them?

The only issue w/ the Stoptech pads we see is they are pretty dusty and if you really beat them and aren't careful you may get some nasty judder from pad deposits. Don't pretend it's actually a real race pad and you'll be fine.

Almost no noise complaints the Brembo crowd so that is a HUGE plus.

We are stocking the Centric High Carbon's and slotted high carbons now.

KNS, I have been sending people your way. You stock some good rotors. I will be needing a set of DBA 4000 rotors in not too long.
