New DBA Rotors
New DBA Rotors
Hello All,
My approach to car mechanics is completely new. The image below best describes my feelings. I currently own a 2008 EVO, never paid attention to the car, used to take it to the dealership, I know, big mistake for my wallet. I decided to buy my own rotors and brakes, hopefully get my dad to help me with installation. I decided to go with the DBA's but have noticed that buying both rear and front two piece rotors is impossible. Ive decided to keep it stock like my vehicle, two piece rotors for the front, and one piece rotor for the back. Looked around at autoanything.com, my question is if I purchased this:
DBA 5000XS Series Rotors
Front Rotor -
DBA 4000XS Series Rotors
Rear Rotor -
Would I have any problems having a 4000xs (1 piece) series for my rear, and 5000xs (2 piece) for my front? Any advice on rotors, I'm conflicted about having two piece or one piece, since i know the front are two and rear are back.
.

If you have a MR with the 2pc. You should be able to get replacement rings for the front rotor from RussellM here (dealer with great prices).
Otherwise, 2pc for the street is overkill. I would hold off on upgrading them.
If looking for 1pc rotors, MAP has a good set that is very well priced.
Pads: EBC Reds, StopTechs, or ET500s are good stock-like street pads.
PS: NTEC is your local Evo club. Great guys/gals there.

I agree though, 2pc for the street is absolute overkill. Any OEM-equivalent rotor should be perfectly capable for street and auto-x.

Kracka is the President of NTEC. Good guy to bounce questions off of too.
I'd get replacement rings (when it needs then) and MAP rear rotors.
