AMR Engineering customer service A+
I dont normally write any special thanks, or reviews of products. But since I do normally do quite a bit of research before buying a product, I figured this was necessary. This isnt to say one coil over is better than the next, just sharing a good experience I've had with the rest of the community. Hopefully this is in the right section, if not I apologize.
First off I purchased my coilovers from another member on EvoM, they were new in box but not bought directly through AMR. I was concerned about any warranties that were on the product being void, so I emailed Andy regarding this. He wrote back promptly and confirmed he would honor the warranty, this was a bonus as Andy was a bit backed up with orders, so I got the coil overs I wanted and quickly.
I recieved the coil overs in the original boxes and I assume UPS threw them out of the plane vs. truck delivery as the boxes did have some damage. I inspected everything after opening and all seemed well. I traveled to a friends shop and began installing them, everything went smoothly until I got to the very end of the install and went to thread on the aluminum adjustment knobs. Apparently in the delivery cycle the tip of the shock shaft threads had been slightly disturbed.. This was making thread the adjustment knob on quite difficult, so instead of messing up the aluminum I figured I would just run the retaining nut off and then back on (Even though I had a die set, short cuts always bite me in the ***). Well in doing so the steel nut decided to sieze onto the shaft and would not thread in either direction. So we struggled for what seemed like a couple of hours, doing everything we knew possible. Finally we reached for a large impact which actually damaged the nut and shaft. Stuck two hours away I was forced to modify another nut to work with the reamining portion of the shaft. I called Andy around 8pm on a Saturday and he returned my call within the hour (That wont happen at many places, let alone any of the suspension companies I can think of). I actually drove the car for several months as I didnt have time to take it down, I told Andy I would send it in for repair, the repair costs were extremely reasonable considering this was no doubt an error on my behalf. A few weeks ago I got an e-mail from Andy saying my Damper was ready.. I was confused as I had yet to send him the damaged unit. He had already prepared another and had it ready to ship, do to some unfortunate circumstances I did not have the cash and explained to him what was going on. He shipped the coil over without having payment sent and it was at my door today. This is going above normal customer service, having over 10k miles on my coilovers with no issues aside from the one I caused I have to say I am very much pleased with my purchase and glad I chose to go with AMR. If the product had failed this would be expected, however it did not. So to go to this extent speaks alot of Andy and his company. Sorry for the long winded post, but I feel it's important as their are lots of choices out there, and some the manufacturer isnt even in the U.S, and you never know exactly what service you may get down the road after the purchase, with AMR I'm confident in saying it will be an enjoyable experience and you will be taken care of. Thanks Again Andy, and thanks for reading.
