Spring Help?
Ok guys I have a 2012 X and am looking to lose that 4x4 look and but some lowering springs on it. Looking into the Swift Sports but from what I see they do not have that much drop but i dont want to go as low as like a Eibach pro kit. Would like to fit 9.5 or 9.75s with the stock 245 tire right now. Also I dont have my rears rolled. Thanks for any help guys have a good one!

9.5" is not as crazy as 9.75", but it's still added weight with little gain and possibly less grip. There are a few 245s that want that much wheel, such as Comp-2s, and a few other tires that like 9.5" wheels for autocrossing, but most 245s are happiest on 9"-wide wheels.

My stock 245s on a 9.5 looked a bit stretched and while not a tremendous change it grip, it did feel worse. 255's on a 9.5 or 9.75 would be great. Just wear your stock tires out and then switch rims; it's not that hard to be patient.
I'll second the GTWorx Tarmac springs, phenomenal all around.

The reason that stretching can make it feel worse is that it often is worse. When the sidewall is stretched outward from tread to rim, the shoulder can collapse when weight shifts onto it in a hard corner. In fact, this is one of the reasons that drifters stretch their rear tires, so that they collapse and lose grip, allowing the drivers to do their thing.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.
