You got a GTR and your suspension is not from Asia

the rest of the car is good.. but when it comes to suspension they are not as good as the eurospec or the american spec shocks

I suppose the Great Unwashed would see the above as an excellent riposte. Those who have kept up with how the world works - which has involved distributed production for about 30 years - would, instead, get a giggle.

As a simple example, think about the suspension upgrades on an MR vs a GSR. The center-piece of the difference is the shocks.

Now ask yourself on which continents are Bilsteins and KYBs made.

how is ohlins and tein even mentioned in the same sentence ahaha... The quality on Ohlins is insane, the ride comfort on the street is insane, the way it absorbs small chattery bumps is insane, everything about them is insane.

Would also love to hear how $1000 coilovers are as good as ohlins???

Just so were on the same page here, I was asking about the Tein racing coilovers that are supposed to be excellent. I know their other stuff is crap.

Yeah, they are standard rates. Still, I am gonna set my rear bar to full stiff and see if that helps. It's not bad, just not incredible.

Well, their racing stuff is better, but still has too much high-speed compression damping. If you only drive on smooth surfaces, knock yourself out, but if ever drive on typical roads, you don't want them.

i feel the same way about the OP. i had fortune auto 500 9/10 without the swift springs. i changed to the ohlins with the 10/7 spring rate. i have a rear whiteline swar bar and roll center kit installed with the ohlins. the difference i noticed is the ohlins would be bouncey in uneven roads. the FA took it like champ and most of the bumps. Im not gonna lie i do miss the ride of my FA 500. my next move is to change the springs of my ohlins to 10/10 or 9/10 like the swifts.

As to your idea of upping the springs on a set-up (your Ohlins) that you say are under-damper ("bouncey in uneven roads" [sic]), that's nuts. Which is why, to be blunt, I don't take your enthusiasm for FA500s that seriously.

He said they have too much roll.

And I feel like they do compared to my other set of coils.
They seem too soft. I'm gonna try to increase the clicks on them

Two replies...

First, "about" is not the same as "as."

Second, shocks only affect transient behavior; if you have too much steady-state roll, then you need new springs and/or bars, not new shocks.

No way. 7/10 would be worse.

Ohlins with proper spring rates dialed in with a good alignment and a little time working on the adjustments results in something pretty awesome.

The standard spring rates are disappointing, which is why we prefer to use custom rates and you should too.
