Tire Damaged - Hit a Curb

I must have cut the wheel a split second too soon and caught the curb edge while trying to save my front end from a steep driveway.

The tire immediately deflated; there's no way in hell this can be repaired right? Good news is the wheel isn't bent. I originally thought it was just the slash on the inner edge but just noticed the sidewall appears punctured....

Worst part is there's less than 1,000 miles on it. So frustrated, Mondays suck.....

Not repairable, IMO

Are you sure that you didn't just pop the bead for a moment and that's what allowed the tire to deflate? I ask because that doesn't look too bad, so I'd like to know if the tire still holds air.

Thanks for the replies. So I finally made it to an air station this evening and to answer your question Iowa...

The upper nick on the sidewall in the circle doesn't leak air.

The lower linear opening near the wheel edge does and the tire fails to hold air.

I ordered a new tire from TireRack this morning, hopefully that was the right move. Seems like too risky of a location even if a repair is possible. I would hope the low mileage won't result in any damage to the AWD system seeing as only one corner is being replaced.

The allotted tread depth difference from left to right should be mentioned in the owners manual. Probably okay with just having 1k on them, but really depends on how much tread depth the opposite tire has.

While the circumstances under which I have to replace this tire are not great I want to say how impressed I am with the lightning fast service of TireRack. I ordered the tire Tuesday morning and it was delivered this afternoon.

Can't wait to get off this spare....makes the Evo look and feel horrible.

Agreed on the speedy response of TireRack in my past experience. Good luck with the new one, hopefully it doesn't fall victim to another curb!

Spares tend to make most cars look/feel pretty bad
