Darn curbs
Darn curbs
It's as the posting title says, curbed back passenger wheel good the other day. Talk about PO'd. I prolly cursed the whole way back to my job. Anyways a good friend of mine helped me make some adjustments this morning. Lucky as he is to have access to a brand new alignment machine. I'm not sure why front left caster isn't reading right though. It's just a few hundredth degrees out of tolerance. Any input would be nice. I'm uploading print out as I type this.

Assuming that curbing a rear wheel will have no effect on the front, I'm more amazed that you'd been driving around with autocross levels of front toe-out. It also seems like your car had a list (i.e., lean) to the left during the "before" measurement. Were you sitting in the car during the reading? (Some serious autocrossers do that, too.)
And how did you get the front camber to change in the way that it did without plates? Could the car have been listing the opposite way during the "after" reading?
Sometimes techs are excessively careful when installing the gizmos on the wheels. Any chance that one or more wasn't on tight? That would explain a lot of this.
In any event, the slightly out-of-spec value for one caster isn't a big deal. When combined with all that front toe-out, I'd be wondering if you'd hit something with your left front, but not very worried.
But, again, I wouldn't take any of this seriously until I knew how your front camber changed during the alignment without upper plates.

I'm just learning so I'm not sure. But my buddy who helped me has been a tech for years. This is based on new machine. It has only a few hundred uses on it. Car drives straight on any rd now. Where before it pulled one way if you accelerated briskly.
