Suspension 101?

I just purchased a set of coilovers and while I wait for them to arrive I decided to start trying to research suspension info so that I can attempt to set them up properly and I cant really find much. Does anyone have any cool links that might be able to help me out? I want information on things like setting ride height, pre-load, compression, rebound etc and how one influences the other. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What brand did you get? I know a lot of brands have a decient instruction guide for installing and setting a "recommended" height and settings.

I dont want to post a certain setup if thats not the coilovers you have. If you look into the how-to section there are a few members that have posted how-to's for certain models.

Above is I think what you are looking for...

Realized thats for lifted trucks, Here is another read from SS

However, the thing is you can adjust them to however you like. It is recommended that you get an alignment and I recommend further if you want more out of your coilovers that you corner balance them.

What do you intend to use them for? Track days?

It is my DD so it will be about 99% street use. I want to give autox a try though.

Nice coilovers. I purchased Ohlins myself, and depending on work I can hopefully put them on this month. They have been sitting waiting to be installed for a few months now...

I havent seen too much info for those specific coilovers. In the instructions it should give a "perfered" setting i.e. measurements from top hat to bottom, measurements from bottom coil ring to bottom/top. You could possibly email eibach and let them know your setup and what you plan on doing and they might be able to point you in a good direction.
