Enkei T6R Compatibility
Enkei T6R Compatibility
Hi everyone!
I've spent the last few days wheel shopping and have it narrowed down to something like the Enkei T6R in gloss black. I will also likely have a red stripe painted on them as I'm looking for the time attack look.
The question... will these wheels work on my 2014 Evo MR if I go with 18x9.5 and +38mm offset (lowest and closest to stock I see)? It is 100% stock at the moment but likely will do either lowering springs or possibly Revel Touring Sport Coilovers.
I am don't mind if I have to end up getting spacers and/or a fender roll.
Thanks for the help!
Robert

They will likely fit. There has been rare cases in the past where the spoke design caused such high offset wheels (too tucked in) not clearing the Brembo's. If such unlikelihood happens, you can simply use spacers like you said.
It's hard to find reputable manufacturers making aftermarket wheels with such "Evo offsets." I myself am running Rays 9.5-inch width and +18mm offset. I had to do both the fender roll and some heat gun work to warp the plastic front wheel wells. Even with rolled fenders, the rear wheels rub the fenders on road trips. So next time I may order 18x9.0 +23 wheels or 18x8.5 +20 wheels. So far I've only found some Work Emotion 2-piece wheels offering the offset (and deep concave for the look
).
For this reason, I can totally understand settling for the 18x9.5 +38 offset, as Enkei doesn't offer +15 ~ +25 offsets there.
Speaking of lowering the car, I regret doing that myself. The Evo X is already quite low from the factory. Most car shipping companies require 6 inches of ground clearance beneath the front fender, which is a reasonable rule of thumb regarding how low the car should go. After lowering my Evo X, I damaged the front fender and side skirts 4 times (repair costs were $1,600, $300, $200, and $700 approx.) in 2 years.
