CTS-V Calipers

Okay so I never posted this on here but I did do it on the EvoXForums page.

A while ago I set my goal to upgrade my brake system on my RA. I found some kits that I could swap in but they were kinda expensive. I found someone who installed a set of CTS-V calipers on theirs and figured I could do the same. The only problem was the threads were super old and not much information was out there to do it on my own. So here’s a time line on how i was able to install them and what I needed to order

June 25 2023
ordered CTS-V calipers, brake lines, DBA 4000 series rotors for Evo X, and brake pads from Amazon

July 3 2023
Received parts

August 12 2023
test fit

December 17 2024
Installed 18x8.5 Hyperblack Wheel AVID1 AV6 5x4.5 35 since the XXR 521 wheels I had previously installed wouldn’t clear the calipers.

December 31 2024
test fit the calipers again to see clearance was enough with the new wheels

January 23 2025
sent calipers to a machine shop to have the ears shaved down to bring the calipers inboard away from the wheels. Had them shave off 3mm

February 3 2025
found that that wasn’t enough so I had them shave off another 3mm

February 16 2025
installed calipers with a 5mm spacer, installed front and rear brake lines, replaced rear pads and rotors

February 18 2025
attempt to start up my vehicle but doesn’t want to start

May 1 2025
Borrowed my friend’s scan tool to read live data, wiggles some wires that I’ve never touched and she started right up!

May 3 2025
Did some aggressive driving on some back roads to see how everything performed and I was not disappointed! Everything was working with no issues. Now I want to see if I can install the rear CTS-V calipers!

That banned user is just a scam bot. Nevertheless, huge thanks to you for sharing the journey of fitting those CTS-V calipers to your Lancer Ralliart. They look opulent.

Feel free to post pictures of installing rear CTS-V calipers also!!

Dig it! Those are nice calipers, wish it was this straight forward for the Evo.
