evo x wheel spacers??

anybody running wheel spacers and or what size? safe for DD?????

aboogabooga Apr 23, 2010 08:33 PM

I'm thinking about "KICS" 10MM WIDE WHEEL SPACERS

aboogabooga Apr 23, 2010 08:34 PM

and yes on stock rims!!!

stokEd Apr 23, 2010 08:40 PM

If you're looking for wheel spacers you want go at least 15mm (that's what I run.) Most people I see run 20mm and that's what I would have gotten if they them in the style I wanted.

so 20mm no rubbing??

PR_Mivec Apr 24, 2010 10:54 PM

i have my eyes on

and this:

^^ that one says endevour BUT we share the same hubs w/ them so i dont see a problem (besides posible rubbing)

jackygor Apr 24, 2010 11:29 PM

To op, i would either stick with ichiba or project kics...

20mm is perfect! even on swift too.
and try not to buy those ebay cheap one, it will cost much more if you have anything happened on them. ichiba and project kics is a good choice with is not so expensive.

does anyone have any information on ADVERSE affects of wheel spacers on suspension geometry?

obviously apart from the longer studs requirement :)

BigT May 1, 2010 09:27 AM

i have 20mm bolt on spacers and the tires rubbed on the fender wells.

Don't get the type that just slide over the (longer) studs. Get the type that bolt on to the existing studs and have their own studs pressed in.

The things that I've seen mentioned with changing the offset of the wheels (and that's what you're effectively doing with spacers are:
- putting more pressure on the bearings, potentially causing faster wear
- scrub radius is changed (changes the feel at low speed mostly)
- the front track is changed (wide track = better steady state cornering)
- exacerbates issues that are present in a lowered mac strut car (the moment around the pivot of the LCA is increased due to a longer lever)

Sounds about right. All this is also true with higher offset rims.
